  Jean-Baptiste Lamarcks theory of Acquired inheritance talks about how an individual can acquire traits due to an ancestors development in a certain area, like the classic example of Lamarck about Giraffes getting long necks because of constant stretching, and through that, their offspring acquires a long neck. The reason why his theory was incorrect is because organisms pass down traits through predetermined genetic information and not fron environmental adaptation during their lifetime.
