How does the temperature affect the average kinetic energy of as molecules

Good Day...

Temperature is directly proportional to the kinetic energy of gases.

When you increase the temperature, the molecules speeds up its movement resulting to increase its spacing between each particles which increases the kinetic energy of gas molecules. When kinetic energy increases, gases will occupy more volume since they spread apart more. When kinetic energy decreases due to decrease in temperature, gas molecules will tend to move closer occupying lesser volume.
